When I saw the Floral Squares Dies, I knew immediately I would own them. I could picture them with the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper, and I loved their fresh, modern flair, but I never once considered buying the All Squared Away stamps they were bundled with. Nope, I didn't need those background stamps - I would use the Sweet Symmetry DSP and the tone-on-tone DSP Assortment Papers found on page 134 of the catalog. Those 6 x 6 sheets are a great value. They can be used as subtle backgrounds for great die cuts, a canvas for one color floral stamps, and as layering pieces when you're short on solid card stock of a particular color. Anyway, here's some of the designs I came up with in literally minutes.
There are so many options using these dies, and I paired them with the In Symmetry stamp set to decorate the inside of my cards and the envelopes. I love, love, love the In Symmetry stamp set which also has a fresh and modern flair.
The more I worked with the dies, the better I liked them. Two very positive things about them is all 4 square dies plus the loose floral images will fit on one 2" x 8.5" sliver of card stock and you can cut all that in one swoop through the die cutting machine. In addition, they pack a big punch and can be used as the center point, which in turn, requires less thinking of a design. Sometimes, I just want to make something - I don't want to have to think about it and try 10 different things before I actually put it together.
I only have one regret in ordering these dies, I wish I would have ordered the stamp set with them and saved 10% because now, I want the stamps. Yes, I started thinking about what all I could do with the square backgrounds, and I really like the happy-go-lucky font used on the sentiments. I should have known that Stampin' Up! knew what they were doing by putting those two together. Oh well, live and learn — I'll have them soon.
Thanks for stopping by and if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours! Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
